As a leader in Manufacturing, the Head of Manufacturing, Rolling Stock, North America plays a key role in driving manufacturing excellence and sustainability while prioritizing the well-being, development, and experiences of our workforce. This role must lead by example and promote dedication to health & safety and the environment. As the Head of Manufacturing, Rolling Stock, North America, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing for trains, trams and locomotives for our Sacramento, CA, and Lexington, NC manufacturing sites (and potentially new sites) located throughout the United States as well as the functions reporting into the Plant Manager at each train manufacturing facility, including logistics, order management, and industrial engineering. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes. This position will report directly into the President of Rolling Stock in the United States and to the CEO of Siemens Mobility, North America. What your day-to-day will look like: - Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to optimize productivity, efficiency, quality, schedule adherence, and cost-effectiveness across all manufacturing sites.
- Cultivate a positive employee culture dedicated to safety, health, and the environment where employees can thrive and feel empowered to reach their full potential.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement while leading a team of site managers and manufacturing professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive performance and achieve manufacturing goals within budgetary parameters.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to track the success of manufacturing initiatives and drive continuous improvement, while ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including supply chain, engineering, and finance, to ensure alignment across all aspects of the business.
- Drive innovation and technology adoption to enhance manufacturing processes, increase productivity, and maintain competitiveness, while managing associated costs and return on investment.
- Develop and continuously improve factory layout, physical and electronic tooling landscapes, with a view towards optimizing the use of automation and digital processing.
- Oversee risk management initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and implementing measures to mitigate risks.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies, to support business objectives and foster a culture of collaboration.
