Sr. Specialist, Trust & Business Banking Operations - Charlotte North Carolina

Role Summary/Purpose:

Handles the daily functions performed in the Trust & Business Banking Department of retail bank operations such as account opening and maintenance. Processing of new account opening, account maintenance and Report review. Collaborate with manager on testing and leading multiple Trust & Business Banking projects.

The schedule for this role is:

8:30am-5:00pm Off Saturday and Sunday, but requires the flexibility to work various schedules including overtime.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Trust and Business product specialist acts as subject matter expert and works on escalated customer issues raised by internal departments
  • Opening of trust and business applications via mail and telephone, perform due diligence on documentation. Complete AML due diligence requirements as part of account opening process
  • Ensure all accounts and transactions are processed correctly and in accordance with compliance and regulatory standards
  • Ensure all transactions and customer requests are completed within defined service level times while meeting accuracy and productivity standards
  • Communicate with customers and processing office via phone, email or in writing as appropriate to resolve service requests
  • Research and complete all cases within the compliance time frame assigned while Monitoring Case Management System(s)
  • Perform all items/requests in accordance with regulatory standards and bank procedures to ensure compliance with the maintenance of accounts, and maintains necessary documentation accordingly
  • Identify suspicious activities and then collaborating with Fraud Management team
  • Assist Executive Complaint team research and respond to any escalated complaints regarding Trust & Business Banking processes that include: OCC, BBB and Chairman Complaints
  • Quality control Business Banking & Trust teams daily work
  • Coordinate Business Banking & Trust Teams testing and special projects
  • Ensure all transactions and customer requests are completed within defined service level times while meeting accuracy and productivity standards
  • Communicate with customers and processing office via email or in writing as appropriate to resolve service requests
  • Monitor Case Management System(s) for the Trust & Business Banking cases, research and complete all cases within the compliance time frame assigned
  • Monitor case volume and reassign cases ensuring that turnaround time doesn't exceed established service levels 10/20 days depending on process
  • Must be able to maintain required productivity by executing with sense of urgency
  • Processes all items/requests in accordance with regulatory standards and bank procedures to ensure compliance with the maintenance of accounts, and maintains necessary documentation accordingly
  • Make recommendations to management for updates on departmental polices or procedures and collaborate with Manager testing updated system functionality
  • Cultivate an environment of trust, teamwork, self-confidence, and ownership
  • Strong business acumen and ability to communicate effectively with all levels
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required
    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Minimum of 6 months experience in Deposits
    • Minimum of 6 months Trust & Business Banking Operations experience
    • Minimum of 6 months experience with bank processing systems (i.e. Aperio, Nautilus)
    • Have at least a "satisfactory" performance rating
    • Not be on active formal or final formal corrective action
    • The schedule for this role is 8:30am-5:00pm Off Saturday and Sunday, but requires the flexibility to work various schedules including overtime, weekends and holidays
      Desired Characteristics:

      • 1-2 years of Trust or Business or banking operations experience
      • Bachelor's Degree preferred
      • Trust experience

        The hourly rate range for this position is $24.00 - $33.50/hr USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

        Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience or skill level.

        Eligibility Requirements:

        • You must be 18 years or older
        • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
        • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
        • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
        • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
