Additionally, this position will support the five regional LGUS sourcing managers (N, S, E, W and HyCO) with collective issues, and will deliver hard savings goals by carrying out the strategic sourcing process.Scope:This position receives a moderate level of guidance / direction, from the North Region Sourcing manager and common tactical work from the regional sourcing managers alike. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a set of commodities / services in the Plant & Production areas supporting LG&E, LGUS, and other Linde entities as support is needed, with the objective of ensuring the procurement process runs smoothly.Reporting Relationships: This position will report to the North Region Sourcing Manager. There are no direct reports but the person in this role may provide direction to Associate Buyers.Primary Responsibilities: - Lead management of a set of commodities / services supporting the LG&E, LGUS, and other Linde entities as support is needed.
- Assist 5 regional sourcing managers with both tactical and strategic activities.
- Assist in the development of strategic plans for those commodities / services that are assigned as primary responsibilities.
- In conjunction with project management, business, sourcing, and requisitioner: solicits and analyzes quotations; selects successful supplier/contractor and completes purchases within set boundaries.
- Procures equipment, materials, engineering, and construction services from approved suppliers at the lowest evaluated cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability and delivery.
- Uses management control tools and provides feedback to sourcing and business stakeholders.
- Is key contact for suppliers, engineering, operations, and project management for assigned commodities / services.
- Follows procurement standards and quality systems.
- Focuses on compliance with procurement processes.Qualifications:
