As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a versatile Behavioral Health Team Clinician (float position) to join our team to co-respond with various police departments throughout the WNY area. Endeavor Health Services is a private, not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the development of accessible and effective services, driven towards improving the emotional wellness and behavioral health of residents of Western New York, Rochester, and the surrounding communities.The float BHT Clinician at Endeavor plays a pivotal role in supporting various community-based police departments in the Buffalo and WNY area. This dynamic full-time position requires flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to take on diverse tasks as needed. The successful candidate will work closely with department managers to assist with day-to-day activities, provide coverage during staff shortages, and contribute to the overall success of the organization. This role will require individuals in the community to receive crisis outreach, timely intervention, assessment and linkages to services.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will work with various Police Departments in the Buffalo area to provide community based interventions, assessments, and linkage to services and crisis outreach. Other responsibilities include: - Initiate and maintain contact with therapists, case managers and other treatment providers
- Timely and accurate recordkeeping
- Facilitate safe and effective transportation of individuals to appropriate diversion sites
- Assist police response at calls involving mental health crises and/or substance abuse
- Assist in developing and participate in police department trainings
- Review calls for service and arrests to identify candidates for additional follow up
- Advocate for treatment focused approach within the local Justice Court system
- Assist with the Overdose Prevention Through Follow Up collaboration with the Erie County DOH
- Consult with concerned family members and provide education in relation to mental health and substance abuse concerns
- Develop crisis response plans to assist officers with residents who frequently utilize emergency services
- Will be cross trained in other BHT areasQualifications
