With a strong emphasis on our team and dedication to excellent customer service, Corning Credit Union continues to be an employer of choice across the markets we serve.Role Summary: As a Member Service Representative I, you will build member relationships through quality service experiences, answer member questions in a knowledgeable, professional manner, and perform a variety of cash handling transactions.Essential Job DutiesMaintain appropriate knowledge of core systems and CCUs products and servicesPresent and explain beneficial products to members and assist in meeting their financial needsUtilize solid cash handling skills and procedural knowledge to effectively perform a variety of paying and receiving functionsAnswer questions and resolve problems for members by leveraging effective listening and quality service skillsPerform file maintenance and account changesBalance daily transactions, verify cash totals, and investigate and resolve out-of-balance conditionsAlso assumes responsibility for other projects or duties as required or assignedRequired CompetenciesThe desire to make serving others a careerStrong communication skillsExceptional attention to detailConfidence in promoting appropriate products and servicesAbility to work effectively within a fast-paced environmentTechnical aptitude and experience with Microsoft programsBasic math skillsCash handling and customer service experience is preferredFlexibility to work in any of our Chemung and Steuben County branches is requiredEducation RequirementsAn Associate degree or other form of secondary education is preferred, commensurate work experience will also be consideredA high school diploma or GED is requiredExperience RequirementsPrior Teller or customer service experience is preferred but not required, as CCU will provide extensive training to the successful candidateCommunication Skills RequiredThe ability to read and comprehend moderate to advanced instructions and correspondenceThe ability to write moderate to advanced correspondence within professional etiquette standardsThe ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situationsPhysical RequirementsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the role.Ability to work in a repetitive motion for a lengthy period of timeProlonged standingLifting requirement exceeds 10 poundsAbility to work within in a moderately loud, fast paced environmentRegular use of computer requiredSpecific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus from close range to long rangeCompensation: The starting Member Service Representative I base pay range is $17.00 - $20.00 per hour. Hiring rates are dependent on several factors, including years of related work experience, education, and geographic location. Corning Credit Union also offers an annual bonus plan as part of its comprehensive compensation package.
