We are seeking a 1st Shift Fabricator to work in our Vessel Shop.

** 1st Shift Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Monday-Friday) **
**2nd Shift Hours: 2:00PM-10:00PM (Monday-Friday)**

Summary:

The Fabricator, under moderate supervision, sets up and operates metal fabricating machines to prepare tanks, shells, and sub-assemblies, working from detailed instructions, blueprints, sketches, and drawings.

Responsibilities:

• Sets up and operates metal fabricating machines such as power rollers, hand brakes, and shears, including making dimensions, adjustments, and calculations, and working from detailed instructions, to cut, form, trim, shape and otherwise prepare parts for assembly.
• Performs other manual operations required for the fabrication of elements such as slitting, folding, gluing, taping; and using varied machines to fold, laminate, cut off, bond, form, crimp, roll and spot weld.
• Maintains records for production, time and Statistical Process Control, as required.
• Maintains high quality standards, as required.
• Provides instruction and assistance to other employees as required.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed. Educational Requirements:
  • High school graduation or equivalent Skill and Experience Requirements:
    • Six months in welding or machine shop operations preferred
    • Ability to read, write and interpret general documents such as work instructions, manuals, and job packages.
    • Self-motivated and ability to maintain near perfect attendance. Highly dependable.
    • Basic level knowledge of machining or welding operations; and dimensional (fractional or decimal) calculations
    • Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity required to use hand tools such as dividers, tape measures, stapler, hand shears, spot welder, rollers, hammers and punches.
    • Ability to communicate in verbal and written form to supervisor on questions specific to processes and manufacturing status.
    • Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and do basic math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and divide.
    • Ability to lift on average 50lbs of weight and move about 20ft.
    • Ability to regularly grasp, pull and push product using material handling equipment (pallet jack).
    • Availability to work overtime as needed.
