GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, in accordance with the NYS Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, and the standards set by Nursing Services and the Nursing Practice Council. AHA-BLS certification is required however, certification is not a qualifying factor to obtain the position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Skills Required:
1. - - -Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
2. - - -Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.
3. - - -AHA-BLS is required within 6 months of hire or current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored to date of renewal.
4. - - -REIS is required within 3 months of hire and annually for Inpatient Psychiatry
5. - - -Previous experience preferred.
6. - - -Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. - - -Ability to work with other healthcare team members.
