Santa Fe is the destination place for those that enjoy art, culture diversity and outdoor activities year around, everything from skinning, hiking, backpacking, and lake activities. We proudly provide full scope eye care to our friends, family community with a returning patient base of 30 years. Our Roswell location opened June of 2021. We are looking for fill in coverage 1 -2 weeks out of the month for a total of 8 days. All reasonable travel expenses paid for while working in Roswell, NM. Responsibilities: Practice in a full medical model office performing examinations of the internal and external structure of the eyes and eye health; testing patient's visual acuity, depth and color perception, and ability to focus and coordinate the eyes; administering medication to aid in diagnosing diseases and disorders. Develops treatment plans by analyzing test results; establishing diagnoses, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal disorders; systemic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes; and vision conditions including nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia. Provide patients an explanation of their condition and treatment options; prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses; providing vision therapy and low vision rehabilitation; dry eye treatment, prescribing and administering medications; providing pre- and post-operative care for cataracts, laser vision correction, and other eye surgeries. Referrals to specialist for complex patient diagnosis treatments. Accurately documents patient care by charting patient condition and treatment in electronic records. Maintains safe, clean, and healthy working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Collaborate with office manager to create "in office" training sessions and cultivate an environment where a continual exchange of knowledge between Dr. and staff is used to develops staff for an efficient Requirements: Doctor of Optometry degree from a college or university recognized by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education or the American Optometric Association. Eligibility to be licensed in the United States by having passed Parts I, II and III of the National Board Exam.
