Position Overview Position Summary Under limited supervision, will be responsible for providing responsible secretarial and administrative support while exercising independent judgment and tact for the financial aid office. Requirements Duties and Responsibilities: Perform responsible secretarial and administrative duties while exercising independent judgment Operate personal computer to enter data, compile and type reports, prepare letters and general correspondence Monitor departmental budget and perform routine record keeping duties Organize and maintain office files including confidential materials Prepare detailed schedules, contracts, lists and materials for distribution Sort, screen, and distribute mail Supervise student employees Review completed work for compliance with University and office policies and procedures Regular and predictable attendance required Perform other duties as assigned Minimum A high school diploma or equivalent certificate and a minimum of one-year experience directly related to the duties specified is required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform routine and moderately complex clerical tasks rapidly and accurately Skill in the use of standard office equipment Ability to understand and convey procedures and regulations established Ability to perform basic bookkeeping procedures Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information Skill in word processing and data entry Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with others Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Working Conditions Physical Demand and Working Conditions: Work is performed inside during regular working hours Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
