Our current team at the Barn has been laser focused on creating amazing wedding and events in our unique premium venue offering rustic elegance. Details below.Sales and Events ManagerSalary: salary plus commission of 1% on F&B only. No gratuities.Reports to: Director of SalesThe primary responsibility of the Sales and event manager is to oversee all aspects of the catering and rental sales process. This responsibility encompasses every aspect with regards to selling, planning, communicating and executing each account.Essential FunctionsSALES* Excellent relationship-building and negotiating skills, exceptional follow-through, strong organizational skills and strong time-management skills are required.* Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; soliciting new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, networking, and written communication; preparing correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance.* Possess detailed knowledge of our menus, services and philosophies.PLANNING *Meet with client to design and create one of a kind events utilizing our Event Rooms and/or catering services.** Develop floor plans, rentals, menus & beverage packages with client* Make all arrangements for rental equipment pertaining to event (billing & payment, delivery on time and pick-up schedules).* Work with restaurant GM on event staffing needs and hiring needs.* Weekly BEO meeting with GM & KM to discuss in detail weekly events.COMMUNICATION *Communicate in writing with Catering Team all final menus. * Communicate in writing with Catering Team any and all beverage needs. (Number of attendees, choice of beverages, client budget, Invoice, Event set-up, etc.)* *All BEOs (Banquet Event Order) are to be circulated to all departments at least one week prior to event. (Barring the event isnt a pop-up)** *Be available for a pre- event meetings prior to all events. (in person or via the phone)Have a basic working knowledge of caterease, excel, word and micros**EXECUTION Weddings & Events: Though not necessary to stay for entire event, one should ensure the clients expectations are exceeded before leaving for the day.
