Job Description Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.See what you're missing. Our employees work on the world's most advanced electronics - from detecting threats for F-35 pilots to illuminating the night for soldiers. Spanning air, land, sea, and space, we are developing the technology of tomorrow, delivered today. Drawing strength from our differences, we're innovating for the future. And you can, too. Our flexible work environment provides you a chance to change the world without giving up your personal life. We put our customers first - exemplified by our mission: "We Protect Those Who Protect Us--." Sound like a team you want to be a part of? Come build your career with BAE SystemsBAE Systems Microelectronics Engineering is looking for an RF/Photonic Integrated Circuit (IC) designer to join us in developing novel systems-on-chip (SOCs) in small geometry CMOS cutting-edge SiGe BiCMOS processes. These designs are funded through internal and customer R&D efforts and require innovative circuit architectures and active research to meet next-generation performance goals. Our cutting edge mixed-signal ICs may be comprised of ADCs, DACs, Fractional-N PLLs, and RF/microwave components (such as LNAs, mixers, baluns, vector modulators), and often use digital calibration techniques to meet stringent defense performance requirements. As such, the candidate is expected to work across disciplines with digital, analog, photonic, and RF design leads to realize next generation products. This role requires solid intuitive and mathematical understanding of transistor-level circuit design and layout issues that drive analog/RF performance, including EM coupling interactions. The candidate will be expected to work collaboratively through all phases of design, simulation, layout, verification, and test. They must be able to identify and evaluate alternative circuit topologies (including novel ones), analyze design trade-offs, and present the results in a clear and concise way. The candidate should also have considerable expertise across mixed-signal technology, EDA tools, and foundry capability. Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.Required Education, Experience, & Skills - BSEE required, with mixed-signal, analog, RF/Microwave, or Photonics concentration.
- Proficiency with EDA tools: Cadence Virtuoso and SpectreRF/Assura/Calibre; Keysight ADS; Synopsys; Matlab
- High level of experience with IC design from simulation through layout and physical verification
- Lab testing experience with Analog, RF, Microwave, Photonic, and/or digital circuits
- Transition and technology insertion in complicated systems
- Understanding of systems level functioning and integration
- Strong written and oral communication skills (including Microsoft Office)
- Familiarity with Linux shell environmentPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills
