Job Description Join a dynamic team of alarm technicians who support Electronic Systems (ES) Sector facilities around the United States. This team of technicians performs a variety of tasks from alarm installation/repair to the repair and installation of cameras and access control systems. We are looking for individuals who have an aptitude for electrical work and a familiarity with basic tools and we are committed to ensuring our employees receive the training and development needed to continue their ambitions for a long-term career at BAE Systems. Alarm technicians are provided the opportunity to travel throughout the United States to ensure all BAE Systems ES facilities have the alarms, access control and surveillance systems they need. BAE Systems Security Alarm Technicians have the opportunity to install, service, test and maintain a common Intrusion Detection and Access Control System to include motion sensors, door contacts, and power supplies ensuring they remain Underwriters Laboratory (UL) compliant. In addition, there are opportunities to install, service and maintain various Internet Protocol (IP) and analog cameras and corresponding Digital Video Recorders (DVRs). We encourage and expect our technicians to work independently while communicating and planning as a team. Installs and repairs security alarm and access control systems in compliance with UL 2050 and DoD government requirements. Ensures that all security installations meet required codes. Performs all duties in accordance with applicable State, Federal, and Local codes and ordinances, and established trade practices. Complies with all safety codes and regulations such as NEC, NFPA, and OSHA.Install equipment to BAE in house standards.Maintains and operates highly complex networked badge and intrusion detection systems, monitoring workstations and encrypted code systems files and tables to meet government security requirements. Ensures that badging and intrusion detection systems are operated and configured to meet all UL 2050 and DoD security requirements.Interfaces, communicates, and coordinates with local Security personnel, project managers, plant engineering and contractors installing, modifying, and enhancing operations of equipment and completing construction projects. May be required to work with or direct other contractor personnel when performing these tasks.Reviews layouts for new and renovation security projects to ensure project installations are correct and complete for proper operation. Responsible for ensuring all work performed as specified by contract, engineering drawings and specifications and applicable codes.Repairs and rebuilds defective, damaged, or inoperative security electrical equipment and components. Isolates source of difficult and installs temporary solutions as required to minimize down time.Compiles, computes, analyzes, interprets and presents a wide variety of security reports, audits or other documentation data to meet government security requirements.Must have willingness and ability to climb ladders and lift objects Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Minimum of a high school education.
- At least two years of experience with alarm installation or electrical installation
- Must be able to differentiate between various colored wiring
- Must be familiar with basic and power tools (drill, impact, Sawzall/band saw, etc.)
- Must have valid driver's license
- Must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a TS clearancePreferred Education, Experience, & Skills
