Reporting to the University's Vice President and Chief Information Officer, the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) directs staff in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining processes across the University to reduce information and Information Technology (IT) risks, responds to incidents, establishes appropriate standards and controls, and consults, advises and directs the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures at all levels within the organization up to and including the President.The position is responsible for campus-wide information-related compliance as it relates to federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. The CISO supervises and manages administrative IT security faculty. The position reports to the Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO).Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree and six (6) years of related professional work experience OR -Master's Degree and four (4) years of related professional work experienceRelated Experience: - Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering degree or a related field from an accredited institution
- Information security and risk management
- Experience working in a complex distributed IT environment
- Experience working with IT security guidelines and requirements such as: NIST, SOX, GLBA, PCI-DSS, FedRAMP, or HIPAA
- Contract and vendor negotiationsPreferred CertificationsCISSP, CISM, CISA, or similar industry certifications.Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree preferred
- Experience in driving change in security functions within multiple organizations
