We are looking for a Sr. Manager Marketing Planning & Strategy to join our team and be accountable for leading market strategy, marketing insights, and marketing planning for the North American Food Colors business unit. This position is a performance and results driven role that requires leadership skills and a high degree of collaboration with other functional areas including product management, R&D, technical customer service, supply chain, quality, and regulatory. We are seeking someone with a keen entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to develop, mentor, and continue to build the marketing team at Sensient Food Colors. What you'll do: - Be a thought leader and an expert in translating market, consumer, and customer insights into actionable strategies and tactics for the business unit that ultimately drive revenue growth and operating profit for Food Colors North America.
- Consumer Insights - Using syndicated data sources and custom research, gain a deep understanding of the packaged food market at both retail and foodservice. Develop vision and key trend framework that technical and marketing teams can deploy in customer facing presentations and ideation sessions. Inform Sensient Technologies leadership about changes in consumer behavior so that all businesses can adjust planning and adjust strategy as needed.
- Customer Insights - lead 'voice of the customer' market research initiatives that help the business understand what attributes are most valued in a food color supplier. Further, the business seeks to gain a deep understanding of how customers view Sensient versus key competitors. The successful candidate must develop effective briefs for agencies where applicable, but more critically develop the VOC process and train internal team members in order to gather meaningful insights. Help the General Manager and business unit leadership develop winning value proposition based on the VOC
- Product Strategy - In conjunction with the broader marketing team, outline target customer segments, buyer personas, and overall new product strategy that will guide product development process.
- Marketing communications implementation - In collaboration with the Sr. Digital Marketing Manager, Content Marketing Manager, and Global Director of Marketing, to develop marketing communications strategy. Develop campaign plans to support new product launches and key communication initiatives. Collaborate and develop media mix plan between search, e-mail, advertising, trade show and other tactics. Ensure the integrated plan achieves desired objectives. What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree is required in Marketing or a related field. MBA is a plus along with 8+ years of extensive marketing leadership in food ingredients and/or consumer packaged goods experience.
- Expertise in consumer and customer insight driven marketing strategies that effectively target specific unique customer segments
- Budget management skills: The proven ability to prioritize and monitor the marketing budget. The sophistication to manage budget tradeoffs based on knowledge of priorities and initiatives. Ability to maximize ROI based on performance of different campaigns and tactics.
- Proven People Development Skills - The ability to mentor less experienced team members and provide consistent coaching to develop these team members.
