Position DescriptionPAYROLL MANAGERVee-Jay is a concrete contractor consistently growing year over year due to our ability to provide excellent service, superior workmanship, a culture of safety and extreme concern for our customers. We are currently looking for a Payroll Manager with responsibility of producing timely and accurate payrolls and related reporting as well as the implementation of effective payroll methods and procedures. This position requires a unique individual to thrive in a challenging, face paced, detail orientated and process driven environment. Responsibilities:Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

• Supervise payroll personnel to ensure compliance, process improvements and maximization of productivity.
• Gather information on hours worked, hourly rates, wages, new hire information; assist personnel in data entry as needed to meet timely processing.
• Maintain accurate payroll information, files, and records in both written and electronic formats to provide up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
• Responsible for the regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Responsible for preparing and remitting union and non-union reports, new hire reporting, timely payroll, payroll taxes and garnishments.
• Serve as the payroll expert within and outside of the payroll department.
• Prepare all appropriate general ledger entries and monthly reconciliations.
• Assist in special projects and ad hoc reporting.
