A large food manufacturing client is searching for a Packaging Process Engineer in the Indianapolis, IN area.--RESPONSIBILITIES:---Analyzes technical malfunctions, makes suggestions for improvement, tests and implements the necessary improvements by coordinating the activities of all concerned departments.---Optimizes the operation of manufacturing processes by finding the optimum packaging and machine settings with an underlying goal of quality and cost.---Participates in the analysis of quality problems in research and applicable solutions, handles relations with the maintenance and production departments for optimization purposes and ensure follow-up to solutions.---Manages and updates the specifications and documents for all existing packaging used throughout the manufacturing facility.---Works directly with sales team for new product/packaging requests coming from customers---Organizes and tracks industrial tests and defines the parameters of production of new products in collaboration with the Plant Manager, maintenance, and scheduling---Reports tests and validates the manufacturing feasibility of new products.---Studies product design, customer requirements, and determines performance standards. Conducts tests to assure safe and satisfactory product performance.---Maintains observation of new equipment/packaging/product once implemented until it reaches the expected performance level on a consistent basis.-----Provides daily technical expertise in support to products team and production leaders. This job serves as the link between production, quality, R&D, and engineering.---Trained to understand the mechanics of the production line machines in order to design and optimize new and current packaging formats as well as line efficiency.---Ability to troubleshoot packaging issues that are experienced on the production line and offer short and long term solutions with maintenance and production team.---Supports manufacturing issues, and troubleshooting as assigned.--REQUIREMENTS:---Bachelor's Degree (B.S) in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering or MET a plus.---Prior liquid fill or aseptic manufacturing experience preferred.---Self-motivated, hands-on individual with keen interest in quickly learning and applying new skills who can follow written/verbal instructions and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.---Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.---Ability to use the principles of calculus and trigonometry for analysis, design, and troubleshooting.---Ability to react quickly to changing requirements and new process developments.---Ability to balance needs such as worker safety, process efficiency, and budgetary constraints.---Excellent organizational skills.---Proficient in Microsoft Office.---Knowledge of GMPs and HACCP regulations.--**Interested candidates are encourage to email current resumes to jhoms judge.com**--UI 680396-- More...
