Overview:

The EEG/EKG Technician works under the supervision of the Director and performs Electroencephalogram (EEG), Visual Evoked Potential (VEP), Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SEP), Electrocardiogram (EKG), Holter Monitor hook-up and scanning. Signal Averaged EKG (SAECG) and Stress Testing. Responsible for charging, logging and archiving of procedures. May be assigned additional duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education: Secondary
• Experience: Less than one year.
• Certifications:
  • BLS Basic Life Support Within 3 Months of Hire.
  • Basic Arrythmia course Within 6 Months of Hire.
  • Other:
    • Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills.
    • The ability to relate testing knowledge and theory to EEG and EKG procedures and equipment and to interpret results and isolate the most accurate readings are essential.
    • Able to operate various office equipment, including a computer, fax machine, printer.
    • Preferred Education: Completion of EKG and EEG training courses/seminars.
    • Preferred Experience: Previous healthcare experience
