Summary:The Quality Specialist s primary responsibilities are to assist the Quality department in the oversight of all quality control documentation, including that required of Food Safety and Quality System (FSQS) and the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) system. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following principal dutiesPrinciple Duties:Daily verification and maintenance of production records including:CCP (Metal Detector) Monitoring LogsSifter Monitoring LogsWetting Slurry Temperature LogsDaily maintenance of Product Release Records.Verification and maintenance of Facility Operational Inspections.Enters completed maintenance Work Orders into the appropriate logs.Manage the Positive Release System including the creation of Certificate of Analyses (CoAs) and release of finished product.Verifies files, and maintains calibration and laboratory records including:Titratable Acidity logsMicro resultsAir and Water Quality Monitoring logsTransfers required documents and data to the BOX system. Is the main interface with the BOX system and is fluent with its use.Creates Certificates of Conformance (CoC) documents when required by customers.Assists with the New Product Development (NPD) process and completes associated documents including:Packaging Work Instructions (PWI)Product SpecificationsMaintains the Supplier Approval Register and all related supplier documentation and forms.Assists with the training program by:Generating and uploading the training rosters.Filing and recording training tests.Maintaining the Training Register.Assists with the Sanitation program by:Generating the monthly Master Sanitation Schedules.Entering sanitation data into the Master Sanitation Schedule Matrix and calculating scores.Filing all related paperwork.Prepares needed blank production forms for the Production personnel.Participates in Internal and External audits in the role of documentarian.Assists QA department by managing the Corrective Action/Preventative Action (CAPA) program by:Assigning numbers and CAPAs to responsible parties.Tracking progress of CAPA work.Recording/filing completed CAPAs on appropriate log.Will be a member of the Self Inspection Team (SIT) and the Food Safety Team (FST).Assist in all other duties assigned by management.The requirements outlined in the company s guidelines for Food Safety and Quality System are communicated through all levels within the organization. All employees are responsible for adhering to these standards. Employees are responsible for identifying and reporting issues that could affect food safety and quality.Actively participates in customer complaint investigation and resolution.General Requirements:Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software. Must be able to quickly learn other informational systems as needed.Must be a high school graduate. Some college education is a plus.Minimum of two years experience in the Food Industry or Third-Party Laboratory environment.Follow company policies, safety program, SOPs, GMPs and Food Safety (HACCP) procedures.Be employed by the supplier as a company employee on a full-time basis.
