Adecco has partnered with a company in the Muskegon Michigan area, looking for a Purchasing Agent.

The Purchasing Agent will purchase chemicals to be delivered to both customers and for the internal warehouse. Primary responsibilities will involve vendor relations, keeping up to date on market conditions, and pricing. The purchasing agent with the purchasing manager will discuss and manage the sourcing function as well as the buying function of chemicals.



Candidates must understand the overall economy and keep the company competitive, sell company to our vendors to help foster long productive relationships, and work with employees to bring the best value in a manner that meets or exceeds all aspects of the Quality and Environmental Commitment.





Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Update costs and supplier information via Chempax.

Maintain orders and inventory.

Process invoices.

Request and verify updates on SDS's and specification/technical sheets.

Schedule common carriers and drivers as needed for the purchasing department.

Works closely with Purchasing, Warehouse, and Transportation functions on projects to optimize ISO processes, eliminating waste and increasing margins.

Understand and be able to operate in Webb¿s Chempax ERP software.

Strong working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Suite.

Strong negotiating skills in relations with outside vendors.

Ability to foster and grow relationships with outside vendors.

Ability to read and write product specifications.

Play a significant role in the success of the ISO processes including documentation, training and the importance of the purchasing function.
