ABOUT THE ROLE: As Senior Electrical Engineer, responsible for embedded/electrical hardware design, development for next gen fire alarm and suppression panel, smoke and heat detectors, wireless and IOT modules and sustain existing products. Work as Individual and with co-located team or global teams with minimal supervision. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Embedded Hardware design and development for next gen fire alarm and suppression panel, smoke and heat detectors, wireless and IOT products. Detailed responsibilities include - Review product requirements, create system requirements, create functional/technical specifications
- Develop system architecture and design for new products development
- Design & development, modifications of embedded systems around 32 bit microprocessors, FPGA, 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers, DDR RAM, Flash memory and analog & digital components
- Understanding and responding quickly to customer issues
- Update and maintain detailed schematics, components library, BOM and design documents for products.
- Provide PCB layout design guidelines to PCB designers and maintain Gerber files
- Perform component selection for obsolescence, cost optimization and value engineering programs
- Perform RoHS, REACH, California Prop65 analysis
- Provide detailed circuit analysis, tolerance analysis, simulations, HW FMEA
- Preparation of system test plans for the circuits designed or modified.
- Troubleshooting hardware issue and optimize performance.
- Work closely with test labs for compliance tests such as transient tests, EMI/EMC etc..
- Work closely with regulatory compliance team / agencies like UL and FM, etc.
- Follow New Product (NPI) development processes, ECO process and contribute to process improvements
The selected candidate shall be able to work individually and with team - hardware and software both locally and globally. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree with 5+ years of electrical hardware development experience PREFERRED QUALFICATIONS: Essential Competencies: - Strong knowledge in mixed embedded system design (analog and digital) by using 32bit processors, FPGA, SOMs, DDR RAM etc...
- Proficiency in Schematic capture tools like Altium and/or ORCAD.
- Proficiency in circuit analysis, circuit simulation using PSpice/LTSpice and circuit tolerance analysis is must.
- High level Experience with PCB layout tools like Allegro/PADS/ layout
- Hands on experience of design different interfaces like external memories, I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485, MODBUS, BLE, LCD & touch screen interfaces etc.
- Must have experience debugging, troubleshooting embedded systems using emulators, JTAG/BDM debuggers etc
- Must have experience in change request management as well as ECO process.
- Must have experience with version control and defect tracking software.
- Passionate to learn new technologies and tools quickly and work in a highly collaborative team-oriented environment.
