Country: United States of America Location: CAFMA: FS Kidde Fenwal Ashland MA 400 Main Street, Ashland, MA, 01721 USA Key Responsibilities - Performing diagnostic work, repairs, and upgrades for a wide variety of manual and automatic machinery including process, calibration and testing equipment, test chambers, welders, machine tools, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Completing scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks.
- Performing inspections of related machine guards, safety devices, and controls.
- Utilizing the Computerized Maintenance Management System for the administration of PM work orders and work requests, including updating schedules, procedures, and tasks.
- Identifying the need for and maintaining a spare parts inventory for critical equipment.
- Coordinating activities of outside repair technicians and other service providers as necessary.
- Utilizing data to identify root causes of machine downtime and implementing improvements.
- Supporting manufacturing process improvement team events, such as Kaizen, Total Productive Maintenance, Value Stream Mapping, etc. to drive positive change within operations.
- Supporting Facilities team members as needed for projects within other manufacturing departments. Responding to emergency calls after hours when required.
- Assisting with maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
- Following all related company safety requirements such as, but not limited to; lock out/tag out, electrical safety, compressed gas, working from heights, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Managing related hazardous and non-hazardous materials and wastes in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Must be able to lift 35+ lbs.
- Must have a current driver's license.
Required Qualifications - H.S. Diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of hands-on experience in diagnostics, repair work, and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
- Working knowledge of electrical/electronic controls, pumps, piping, hydraulic systems, mechanical systems, and pneumatics.
- Familiarity with machine guarding systems, safety controls, and interlocks.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, manuals, schematics, and control diagrams.
- Computer proficiency, specifically with Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word.
