Annually, Covanta's modern Energy-from-Waste facilities safely convert approximately 20 million tons of waste from municipalities and businesses into clean, renewable electricity to power one million homes and recycle approximately 500,000 tons of metal.We are seeking an highly motivated Operations Analyst to join our Covanta Semass team!Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Operations Analyst will be responsible for providing operational analytics support to the facility to drive impactful business decisions and support operations efficiency.Key Responsibilities: - Assist Marketing Manager, Facility Controller, and Facility Manager in budget cost tracking / forecast analysis / Capital Expense Tracking / contract maintenance
- Review and code facility invoices
- Assist with month end accruals
- Update and distribute forecast reports
- Work with Marketing Manager and Corporate to coordinate deal updates and contract renewals
- Review open PO report to assess for GL coding errors
- Updates deal pricing works to ensure proper billing for outbound materials
- Reconcile production reports to scale data (PC Scales).
- Reconcile scale data (PC Scales) to billing reports.
- Reconcile floor, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory to plant production reports.
- Support scalehouse operations, establishing and ensuring proper accounts are used for ash, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, aluminum, heavies, and other materials requiring weights for contractual and environmental permit compliance.
- Works with Buyer, Site management, and Accounts Payable to ensure proper coding and matching of payments
- Additional duties to be assigned, to meet facility operational needs and requirementsPROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and offer solutions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates (A.S.) or bachelor's degree (B.S.) from accredited college or university
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- 1+ years related experience and/or training in similar situation, or equivalent combination of education and experiencePREFERRED SKILLS:
