What we need We are looking for an Advanced Structural Engineer with a strong Revit background to join our Structure and System Layout team within the Core Hardware Engineering organization. Your job will be to contribute to the Structure team via performing structural analysis of existing components and re-sizing, as necessary, to meet customer product and/or site specific requirements. You will also be expected to, as needed, provide structural engineering expertise to the automation hardware engineering staff of the Core Hardware Engineering group. This opportunity will expose you to a wide variety of engineering teams within our organization as well as the customer's architects and structural engineers, construction leaders and leading edge technologies in the warehouse automation and material handling industries, including AI and Machine Learning What we do The System Layout and Structural Engineering team is part of the Hardware Engineering organization, which is responsible for the Mechanical, Structural, and Electrical Engineering of the Symbot and the Structure, System Layout, and Electrical Distribution Systems. What you'll do - Exhibit solid working knowledge of Revit, including being able to create and utilize complex Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters and similar Revit functions
- Design structures for integrity and compliance for housing high speed machinery
- Validate structural designs via proficiency in using structural analysis software such as Ansys, STADD.Pro or equivalent
- Designing and optimizing structural components of warehouse automation systems
- ensuring integrity, safety and compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Work closely within Symbotic in cross functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software developers and installation leaders
- Work closely with partners external to Symbotic including consultants, architects, facility related structural engineers and customer project managers
- Be responsible for maintaining knowledge of typical machinery utilized in the material handling industry
- Ability to travel up to 10% to support customer sitesWhat you'll need
