Join us in shaping the future of orthopedic care in Kansas-----"and beyond.Registered Nurse Essential Job Functions:Provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations.Addresses the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.Ability to interact and respond with various patient behaviors in a therapeutic, gentle and friendly mannerCommunicates reassurances and explanations consistentlyAdapts nursing procedures to meet the needs for treatment of various types of patientsIdentifies physical symptoms and changes and takes appropriate action in a timely mannerAbility to assess cardiorespiratory systems for changes in patient condition and respond appropriatelyObserves behavioral and physiologic changes due to medications; takes appropriate actionsCarries out surgical asepsis during treatments and special procedures and uses PPE.Uses appropriate techniques for safe administration of medications and parenteral fluids.Demonstrates knowledge of anesthetic drugs, actions, and side effects.Medicates postoperative patient as needed after pain assessment and evaluation of patient's condition.Counts narcotics at the beginning and end of each day with another nurse, per policy.Coordinates and supervises patient careProvides education to patient and family regarding careProtects patient's right to privacySensitive to patient needsMaintains composure and appropriately responds to patients in an emergency or physically distressful situationAbility to create documentation that meets current standards, policies and procedures and in a timely mannerHighly motivated and able to work independentlyFollows AORN StandardsRegistered Nurse Secondary Job Functions:Provides innovative input into the development of the hospital environments and its processesParticipates in facility performance improvement activitiesCreates and maintains policy and procedures to State and Federal regulationsMaintains policy and procedures in relation to hospital/ clinic regulationsRequirements:Registered Nurse Essential Qualifications:Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of KansasCurrent BLS certificationMinimum of one (1) year work experienceCurrent ACLS certification or willing to obtain within three (3) monthsMaintains regulatory requirements and completes annual education requirementsAttends the required annual education programCan interface with computers effectivelyLearns new concepts and procedures quicklyExcellent organizational skillsAccuracyAbility to manage time and appropriately prioritize tasks and responsibilitiesAbility to communicate effectively and in a professional and courteous manner with co-workers, vendors and other people in contact withPunctualityLab Requirements:Ability to perform lab testing per lab policies and proceduresAbility to interpret results of test: take appropriate action on test resultsKnowledge of storage, care and use of each specific cartridgeKnowledge of quality control testing monthly or with each new shipment and proficiency testPIcac7dcff95c3-25660-34170287 More...
