Come join us and let's drive success together!POSITION INFORMATIONUnder the direct supervision of the Service Manager, the Service Technician is responsible for performing car and truck repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. They will also oversee the work of any apprentice that may be assigned to the technician.BASIC RESPONSIBILITIESPerform general job qualifications as outlined in the technician pay sheets based on the technician skill levelReceive repair orders from shop foreman and/or service advisor and take to stall areaPerform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standardsDiagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairCommunicate with parts department to obtain needed partsSave and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customerExamine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is requiredAdvise Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promisedDocument work performed legibly and accurately on hard cardRoad-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician, while be conscious of keeping the customers vehicle clean. Ensure that customers vehicles are kept cleanSupervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned. Attend factory-sponsored training classes.Keep abreast of factory technical bulletinsKeep shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all timesUnderstand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes. Road-test vehicles to quality-check work performedFollow federal, state and dealership safety standardsQUALIFICATIONSHigh school degree or the equivalentAbility to read and comprehend instructions and informationGeneral mechanical skillsPrevious experience CDK DMS system preferred.Valid drivers license and good driving recordManual dexterityWORKING CONDITIONSThis is a physically demanding position. Will stand eight or so hours per shift. Will lift parts weighing in excess of 70 pounds several times during each shift and use hoist and test equipment as needed. They will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, and feel. They will use hand and power tools. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Road-testing of vehicles may be required.
