1st Shift Maintenance Technician - Cedar Rapids Iowa

Full time position performing maintenance tasks on equipment and the facility. Will report to and work with the Maintenance Manager to improve and maintain company priorities. Duties and Responsibilities: - Complete Preventative Maintenance on equipment per the Maintenance Manager's schedule.
- Greasing machines
- Cleaning machines
- Looking for potential future issues and improvements to machines
- Replacing parts
- Respond to, and correct equipment failures, Mechanical, hydraulic pneumatic and electrical.
- Fabrication of parts when needed, and repair of failed part and equipment fabrications
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems
- Use Rockwell and other software to troubleshoot machines and production systems as well a make program changes to improve line efficiency and up time.
- Help modify production processes to streamline manufacturing. Create machines and solutions for changing production needs
- Knowledge of safe use of welders, plasma cutters, and torches.
- Assist in install of new equipment both mechanically and electrically. Able to lay out, align, and level precision line equipment.
- Work on loading docks and the equipment affiliated with them.
- Maintenance and repair of vacuum material conveyance system.
- Capable of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs to building.
- Can operate fork trucks, skid steers, and snow removal equipment.
- Run and terminate CAT VI cable, and minor network repairs.
- Soldering both wire and copper pipe joints.
- Work from heights.
- Knowledge of AC and DC systems, including frequency drives, DC motor drives, MCC's, servo motors, servo drives, and electrical distribution.
- Knowledge of chilled water systems and their maintenance.
- Knowledge of compressed air systems and air compressor maintenance.
- Ability to work alone and with others.
- Good customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be able to cover off shift, and on call.
- Have, or able to obtain OSHA certification
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E
- Familiar with the implementation of lock out tag out programs.
- Ability to train others in operation and safety of equipment on the production floor.
- Maintain automated warehouse racking
- Automotive and implement repair and maintenance, (oil changes, part replacement, etc..)
- Working knowledge of hydraulics and hydraulic systems
- Able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams and blueprints.
- Safe use of hand and power tools.
- Work on ladders up to 12 ft
- Operate and work from a scissor and boom lift safely.
- Capable of rigging large and heavy loads for lifting.
- Work in cold, hot, and noisy environments.
- Able to trouble shoot pumps.
- Disassemble, reassemble, and diagnose gear drives and belt conveyor systems.
- Able to manipulate and modify ABB robots
- Work with and troubleshoot pneumatic control systems on machines and building.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Technical School degree along with 1-3 years of experience with equipment or repairing manufacturing and packaging equipment, as well as building, grounds and vehicles.
- Valid driver's license
- Attention to detail.
- In absence of degree, 3-6 years of experience required
- Trade school with applicable experience.
- Able to interface with automation equipment HMI
- Frequency and servo drive experience
- Ability to use a mill and lathe
- Welding experience
- Experience with plastic extrusion
- Use of a CMMS maintenance tracking program
- Ability to work independently
- High School Diploma
- Trade school or technical college education is a plus
- Can operate equipment, fork trucks and vehicles in a safe manner.
- Experience in robotics Maintenance and repair.
- Ability to lift 50 LB
- Ability to stand, sit or walk for up to 12 hours in a shift
- Can read and interpret blueprints, and schematics for trouble shooting and repair purposes.
- Be able to attend work regularly, and on time.
- Formal HVAC experience is a plus.
- Formal electrical experience is a plus
