Job SummaryThe Associate Director of Ticket Sales & Operations reports to Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing and leads all outbound ticket sales efforts for IU Indianapolis Athletics Department. This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the IU Indianapolis, Horizon League, and the NCAA.Department-Specific Responsibilities - Helps to provide daily supervision of all ticketing operations and functions for athletics.
- Coordinates and leads all outbound ticket sales efforts (season, partial, renewals, group and individual) through a best practice approach.
- Assists with invoicing and renewals for all ticketed sports.
- Helps to develop new leads through community engagement opportunities and networking.
- Assists with customer relations, including prospects, season ticket holders and donors, by providing excellent customer service and maintaining accurate records.
- Prepares and maintains box office reports required for the campus.
- Assists with the daily management of the Box Office, as well as with game day management for the athletic, arena, and other events as assigned.
- Assists to provide supervision of part-time ticket office employees with daily and gameday ticket operations.
- Works with Director of Operations to assist on game day operations.
- Manages certain game day operations.
- Helps recruit and retain student workers and game day workers.General Responsibilities
- Independently initiates advertising/sales agreements with clients, applying volume or group discounts when appropriate.
- Regularly conveys various product/service and/or advertising options to potential customers and answers questions about policies and procedures; acts as a liaison with creative services and production staff when applicable.
- Creates advertising/sales plans and recommends cost-savings and revenue-increasing strategies to manager.
- Responds to customer inquiries and regularly provides quotes, terms and conditions, and creates contracts.
- Resolves complex customer questions and complaints.
- Prepares and interprets reports of advertising and sales figures; independently corrects basic and moderately complex issues.
- Performs analysis of transactions and accounts against targeted goals and communicates discrepancies to manager.
- May provide guidance to lower-level Advertising/Sales Specialists, Advertising/Sales Assistants, or hourly employees.QualificationsCombinations of related education and experience may be considered. - Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, or related fieldWORK EXPERIENCERequired
- 2 years in relevant fieldPreferred
