The Tax Manager is a full-time position that will report to the Finance Director. RESPONSIBILITIES - Maintain effective control procedures for all aspects of the tax function.
- Manage relationships with third-party advisors and collect all data requested.
- Manage relationships with taxing authorities and lead all tax audits.
- Oversee the quarterly and annual filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, renewals, and payments.
- Oversee the monthly and quarterly sales, use, and rental tax filings and reconciliations; maintain the sales tax software.
- Evaluate and implement new tax systems and process improvements as needed.
- Oversee all property tax filings and abatement compliance.
- Oversee and review fixed asset maintenance for tax purposes in Sage software.
- Research and resolve tax notices.
- Maintain current tax exemption files and ensure accuracy.
- Respond to customer questions regarding taxation on invoices.
- Oversee and review taxability rules on purchases.
- Conduct tax research and provide guidance for tax-related decisions.
- Monitor current and impending tax law changes that could impact the company and ensure compliance. REQUIREMENTS
