DepartmentSCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH - BLOO (BL-SPHB-IUBLA)Job SummaryThe School of Public Health-Bloomington Marketing and Communications team is looking to fill the position of graphic designer.Department Specific Responsibilities - Responsible for the creation and production of print materials, digital graphics/ads, brochures, social media designs, designed email needs, direct mail pieces, and much more.
- Assists with in-house photo and video needs such as capturing an event on film, photographing in-house events, or even the creation of social media graphics and reels.General Responsibilities
- Identifies basic and complex graphic design projects and performs research, conceptualizes design, sets timeline, and designs visual elements for use in a variety of marketing and communications needs, adhering to IU brand guidelines.
- Regularly consults with marketing and communications staff and other key stakeholders to determine project needs and ensure graphic design elements align with strategy and objectives.
- Designs the layout and format for digital and print graphic design content, including selection of colors, images, fonts, logos, and placement, for various marketing and communications needs, audiences, and platforms; may delegate basic design tasks to Graphic Design Assistant(s).
- Creates images, graphic elements, illustrations, and other visual content using a variety of graphic software, including Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint; takes on special and/or urgent projects.
- Seeks input from peers and stakeholders on a variety of graphic design elements to evaluate effectiveness of different aesthetics, colors, fonts, images, etc.
- May provide organizational training on graphic design methodology and strategy.
- May provide guidance to Graphic Design Assistants.QualificationsCombinations of related education and experience may be considered.
