DepartmentUNIV STRATEGIC INITIATIVES (UA-USI-IUBLA)Job SummaryThe Office of the Vice President seeks an expert leader to oversee multiple high-level projects at the discretion of the Vice President and Associate Vice President. Department Specific Responsibilities - Establishes long-term plans and strategic objectives.
- Manages projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.
- Provides highest level of operational leadership and coordination of assigned enterprise-wide projects and initiatives from concept to completion and evaluation.
- Responsible for escalated operational issues.
- Resolves complex operational and strategic problems for departments or multiple departments / divisions.
- Drives innovation and excellence within the area of project management, reviews, and creates policies and procedures.
- Executes initiatives in collaborative ways that drive innovation, excellence, and change.
- Develops business relationships across the university and externally.General Responsibilities
- Provides highest level of operational leadership and coordination of assigned staff members to define project management methodologies and standards.
- Provides direction and guidance on high priority project management projects/initiatives.
- Establishes short-term business plans and long-term operational objectives, including managing project timelines/deliverables and developing resource plans for multi-project/multi-phase web project management initiatives.
- Manages projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.
- Conducts a variety of personnel actions to include, but not limited to hiring, promotion, performance management, and dismissal.
- Manages high level assignments and allocation of technical resources, including negotiating and coordinating initiatives that involve staff in other departments/areas/teams; may coordinate large-scale web projects with a wide audiences.
- Makes budgetary recommendations/proposals based on resource needs and ensures cost containment.
- Works collaboratively with other project management leaders across departments in recommending standards, best practices, and related policies/procedures.
- Prepares management reports and summaries for senior administration, executive, steering and advisory committees.
- Acts as advisor to executive committees.
- Serves on various university committees, communities of practice, and task forces related to project management.QualificationsCombinations of related education and experience may be considered. - Bachelor's degree in related fieldWORK EXPERIENCERequired
- 4 years of relevant experience
- 1 year of management experiencePreferred
