Job Summary The Driver is responsible for providing timely, accurate, and safe deliveries of liquid bulk commodities. The Driver provides excellent customer service by collaborating diligently and expeditiously with dispatchers and customers daily. Drivers support interstate operations with several days/nights spent away from home per week while on deliveries to our customers. As a driver, you must have a safe driving record, follow all state and national driving laws, rules, and regulations. In this position, you will follow prearranged routes to destinations or use maps and GPS to navigate routes. You will also maintain vehicle upkeep and cleanliness. Compensation Loaded Miles: $0.61 (post training) Unloaded Miles: $0.60 (post training) On-Duty Time: $20.40/hour Role Expectations: - Practice safe driving habits
- Use ELD and telematics data to improve performance
- Follow all state and national safety regulations and standards
- Accurately follow routes, maps, and directions
- Arrive at destinations on schedule
- Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays
- Maintain vehicle equipment; replace oil, fill gas tank, perform general motor vehicle maintenance as needed for safety
- Clean windows, windshields, and mirrors as needed
- Keep interior of vehicle clean of debris and clutter
- Inspect vehicle before and after use according to DOT and company standards.
- Loading trailers and filling customer owned tanks as assigned.
- Use of various equipment including opening valves, hoses, air compressors, gauges, and meters.
- Maintain DOT and company vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed.
- Work closely with customers to Quick-Way, Inc. meet their expectations, listen to and report customer complaints, concerns, or questions to Dispatcher.
- Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
- Assure the truck remains in proper and safe working order and that routine and required maintenance occurs on a timely basis.
- Complete additional safety and industry training as required.
- Comply with all Federal, State, and local laws regulating safe driving and the safe and proper handling of materials.
- Immediately notify the Dispatcher of malfunctioning equipment or condition that needs immediate action.
- Maintain appropriate driver s license with needed endorsements
- Perform other duties as assigned.
