Job: Title Material Handler 1 POSITION SUMMARY Position is to move material throughout the plant and warehouse manually or by operating electric powered lifts ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Safety Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines Know emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc. Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Understand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out procedures Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately Task Move stock and other materials to and from storage and production areas by hand or other equipment Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments, material and equipment needs Ability to hand build pallets per MO Attach identifying labels to containers, and/or mark them with identifying information Secure material and products for transport to designated areas by using the stretch-wrapper machine Assists other workers with specific tasks as requested Follow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMPs QUALIFICATIONS 1.Willingness to work and to follow instructions 2.Basic computer skills 3.Must be able to read, write and speak English 4.Fork Lift Certification EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSING/CERTIFICATION High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) PHYSICAL DEMANDS Stand F (Frequently) Lift/Carry Walk F (Frequently) 10 lbs or less C (Constantly) Sit C (Constantly) 11 lbs - 20 lbs C (Constantly) Handling C (Constantly) 21 lbs - 50 lbs C (Constantly) Reach/Outward O (Occasionally) 51 lbs - 100 lbs F (Frequently) Reach Above Shoulder O (Occasionally) Over 100 lbs N (Not Applicable) Climb O (Occasionally) Push/Pull Crawl N (Not Applicable) 12 lbs or less C (Constantly) Squat and Kneel O (Occasionally) 13 lbs - 25 lbs C (Constantly) Bend O (Occasionally) 26 lbs - 40 lbs C (Constantly) 41 lbs - 100 lbs O (Occasionally) WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this position employee may be exposed to extreme heat, moving mechanical parts and products with sharp edges.
