The primary duties are skilled and semiskilled tasks in the installation, repair, and rebuilding of equipment requiring a broad knowledge of mechanics, machine design, machining practices, electrical and pipefitting

techniques. Diagnoses equipment problems, makes repairs and recommendations for improvements.

* The primary duties are skilled and semiskilled tasks in the installation, repair, and rebuilding of equipment

requiring a broad knowledge of mechanics, machine design, machining practices, electrical and pipefitting

techniques.

* Operates various machine shop and maintenance equipment. This includes any combination of the following, but

not limited to: measuring devices, ladders, electric truck, cut-off saws, hand tools, drill press, shear, bender, metal

press, lathe, milling machine and welding equipment.

* May connect or reconnect electrical wiring to perform required maintenance such as replacing electric motors or

other electrical devices.

* Makes piping repairs to equipment such as replacement or repair of water, air, gas, steam, hydraulic and oil lines,

fittings, valves, pumps, etc., including minor repairs and adjustments on pressure gauges and recording

instruments and refrigeration and air conditioning units.

* Must know operation and be capable of repairing equipment producing steam, air and water, such as, air

compressors, boilers and steam generators and hydraulic pumps.

* Makes jigs and fixtures as needed using blueprints, drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions.

* Orders parts, tools, or other items needed to maintain and/or service.

* Sets up and runs various auxiliary equipment as required.

* Expected to do job assigned such as set-ups, repairs or rebuilds so that a quality product can be produced.

* Other duties as assigned.
