This position description is designed to outline primary duties and qualifications, but not limit one to specified duties, to ensure individual and group success.Job SummaryAssures safe, quality products and processes by establishing and administering food safety and quality standards, testing materials and product through leadership and management of all quality department members. The Quality Supervisor will be the backup for the Quality Manager, SQF Practitioner, and HACCP Coordinator, and vice versa. Reports directly to the Quality Manager.Duties and ResponsibilitiesLearn, practice, and adhere to all Safety policies & procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) established for CPSLearn, practice, and adhere to all Quality policies and procedures including Safe Quality Food (SQF), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Quality Points (HACQP).Helps to maintain SQF programUnderstand audit requirements and effectively perform as back-up point person for customer and regulatory audits.Leads the drive for quality by studying product and customer requirements with other members of management and with production operators and technicians.Leads the continuous improvement of in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods, devising testing methods and procedures.Leads the continuous improvement of product quality documentation system.Maintains product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and government requirements; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods.Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.Completes quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees. following up on work results.Maintains quality staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Supervise and, when needed, perform Refractometry, pH reading, Titratable acidity.Read and report microbiological plating of finished productsPerform Line checks when needed.Supervise and assist with equipment sanitationPerform all other duties as assignDesired Skills & QualificationsMinimum Bachelor s degree in a technical field or a bachelor s degree in non-technical field with a minimum of 3 years
experience in a quality role.Experience as SQF Practitioner preferredHACCP training course requiredExperience leading or assisting with customer auditsStrong organizational skills with ability to collect and prepare dataExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProven history of consistently meeting deadlinesWorks well as a self-motivating team player, who thrives in a fast paced, multi-tasking and results-oriented environmentStrong problem-solving ability with personal and business maturityOperates with a sense of urgency and consistently demonstrates the ability to prioritizePhysical DemandsVision, hearing, and speaking to meet performance standardsClimb ladder up to 10 feet off the ground using safety equipment providedAbility to stand and/or walk for long periods, reach, push, pull, lift, climb, bend, stoop, squat, and use manual dexterity to work with the following tools: blending machines, scales, pallet jacks, drum dollies, mops, brooms, portable stairs, hoses, forklifts etc.Ability to safely lift to 25 pounds on a frequent basis and move heavier weights using proper equipment and/or team lifting techniquesWork EnvironmentRequires ability to work in an environment that may contain fumes, dust, odors, moderate level noise, and temperature and ventilation variations while wearing any appropriate safety and/or protective clean room apparel required (e.g.: safety glasses, gloves, hair net, face mask or respirator, and uniforms)Job Type: Full-timePay: $72,000.00 - $80,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8-hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayShift availability:Night Shift (Required) More...
