Sr. Manager of Research & DevelopmentThis position will be responsible for leading the R&D team. Experience with people management, product, package, and manufacturing production facility.Projects and development will be heavily focused on manufacturing of lunch meat or processed meat formulas and process development. Managing both scientists and culinary team.This job will require in depth testing of product formulations with various manufacturing equipment vendors/suppliers, to help the team identify the best product formulas, best equipment, and optimal manufacturing procedures to produce the highest quality product with the lowest costs.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Work cross-functionally with the project team to build a meat business and production facility including people, plant, process, and productsExecutes small scale and large-scale plant testsDeli meat experience, sausage, and or finished meats experience will be leaned on (a
meathead
professional)Creates and manages product specifications and maintains accurate and complete records, analyzes reportsUtilizes a working knowledge of plant processes and facilitiesProvides onsite monitoring and technical assistance to operations when testing/manufacturing new productsLeads commercialization of product changes and implementation of new items and processesWorks with cross-functional team members to flawlessly implement formulations, manufacturing processes and commissioning new equipment and manufacturing linesTechnical Qualifications:10+ years of experience is ideal, with 5+ years managing a mid to large size environment supporting multi plant CPG manufacturing operationsBachelor s Degree in Food Science/Technology, Meat Science Degree is a plusExperience working in a meat processing facilityClear, concise written and oral communication skills required with attention to detail and accuracy mandatory and computer skills that include Word, Excel, PowerPointMust be a driven individual that can take ownership of projects, R&D responsibilities, and complete all the relevant tasks required for the job with minimal oversightAutonomous self-starter that is accountable to delivering exceptional project resultsExcellent collaboration and organizational skillsAbility to multitask and prioritizeDemonstrated R&D technical competence and demonstrated motivation and creative problem-solving skillsAbility to interact with others in manufacturing, lab and office environment**If you d like to hear more about this opportunity and others we are currently working on, please contact Damon Wickmann at dwickmann cps4jobs.com.JO: 945.22DW#LI-DM2 More...
