Job Description - Open and close evening care program on time every evening during the program period
- Serve as a classroom floater when needed.
- Organize program materials for lessons and activities, as well as document attendance, incidents and other observations for ages 6-12.
- Deliver dynamic daily curriculum to engage children ages 6-12 in academic and social character-building that expands school day learning in a meaningful way.
- Using your coursework training, model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety, well-being and attention of all children while supporting homework completion, leading fun fitness activities, and guiding children at play.
- Excellent communication skills with a varied audience including children, parents, staff and school personnel.
- Model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety and well-being and attention of all children.
- Meets regularly with the Program Director regarding professional progress and team accountability.
- Completes all required training and professional development required for compliance with DCFS licensing and Head Start requirements.
- Maintains compliance with all DCFS licensing requirements.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.
- Professional Educator License (type 04) in Early Childhood
- 18 hours in Early Childhood Education (preferred)
- Outstanding customer service and relationship building skills.
- Works well in a team environment
- Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living.
- Ability to meet state-specific requirements, CPR, Mandated Reporter training, TB test, Background Checks.
- Knowledge of Teaching Strategies (TS) Gold, desirable.
- Knowledge of Creative Curriculum, desirable.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Understanding of child development for children ages 3-12.
- Pedagogical content knowledge for curricular areas for grades K-6th.
- Ability to individualize instruction, guidance, and support for a variety of learners and ages.
- Ability to meet state-specific requirements, CPR, Mandated Reporter training, TB test, etc.
