ASSISTANT QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER - Chicago, IL Barlett areaSALARY RANGE: $90,000SHIFT - HOURS: OFF SHIFT The Quality Control JR. Manager will perform all duties as assigned. The Quality Control JR. Manager will be responsible of the QC Technicians scheduling, will be accountable to develop Food Safety and Quality programs that result in compliance with Corporate Policies and Procedures, USDA, FDA GMPs, and customer requirements as related to process and packaging of products produced at the facility and incoming ingredients.REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or any related scienceMINIMUM 5 years of quality control experience in food manufacturingHACCP CertifiedBasic principles of microbiology and biochemistry, organic and inorganic chemistryShall be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point systems.Multi-task and leadership skills, Team player and organizedAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentMathematical aptitude with analytical proficiency, professional communication skillsDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Audits and ensures compliance with customer requirements, USDA and FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP, as well as all Food safety and sanitation policies, procedures and guidelines. Monitors pest control program and assures corrective actions are implemented.Participates in investigation and resolution of customer complaints, reject product episodes.Has the responsibility of Lab analysis and their evaluation; trend the results of finished product.Maintains updated all documentation regarding raw materials suppliers and has the responsibility to prepare specs.Maintains contacts with raw materials suppliers for non-conformity and agrees corrective actions.Managing of raw materials, finished products and environmental test analysis plan.Maintain contact with the external labs.In collaboration with QSM, updating of finished product specs.Pre-shipment review.Positive ReleaseManagement of Hold and ReleaseManagement of QC teamProvides trainings to QC team and production teamMonthly review of quality issues and RFTManagement of shelf life trials and industrial trialsManagement of daily production issuesManagement of Pest Control More...
