Position Type: Support Staff/Maintenance Plumber Date Posted: 1/5/2024 Location: Maine West High School HOURS ? Monday through Friday- 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. The skilled maintenance worker must have suitable background and experience to function in mechanical maintenance. RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Handles all plumbing operations, including rodding of lines and drains, repair leaking faucets and valves, changing of water filters, installation of towel, soap and sanitizer dispensers, handles all fixing of bathroom partitions. ? Monthly roof inspections, including cleaning drains, identify leaks or problem areas. ? Assist with snow clearing operations, including shoveling, salting and plowing. ? Other shared responsibilities may include but not limited to: sprinkler maintenance, some furniture repairs, emergency door and hinge repairs, floor and wall tile repairs. ? Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor, including but not limited to partial custodial duty if needed. REQUIREMENTS ? Completion of a plumbing program at a vocational school or plumber apprenticeship. ? Current Plumbing License (preferred) ? Ability to get certified in testing RPZ (BackFlow Prevention Valves) ? Ability to get a CPO Certified Pool Operator's License ? Excellent interpersonal and communications skills including but not limited to verbal, written, electronic and radio/phone communication. ? Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks in a timely manner. ? Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including specification, and rough drawings. ? High level of integrity and trustworthiness, maintains confidentiality/privileged information. ? Able to lift at least 50 pounds; move (with assistance when appropriate) all standard school and office furniture; ? Climb and work on a ladder, scissor lift or scaffold 30 feel high; work on one's feet for at least 4 hours at a time; able to work on hands and knees. ? Ability to work in confined spaces ? Good understanding of how to use power tools including sewer rodder, pipe threader, and hammer drills. ? Strong work ethic with the ability to provide consistent high-quality work, with attention to efficiency and accuracy and maintain deadlines. SALARY & BENEFITS ? Total salary - $78,462.40 ($67,662.40 base salary plus $10,800.00 highly skilled stipend) ? Medical & dental insurance ? 10 days paid vacation ?
