Apply today for our RN Infection Prevention opportunity.Job Summary and QualificationsResponsible for assisting Infection Preventionist with the Hospital Infection Control program working under the clinical direction of the Infection Control Director. You will: - Maintain surveillance of patient units and laboratory data.
- Participate in the Quality Management, Employee Health (EH), and Performance Improvement activities related to Infection Control.
- Participate in the Infection Control (IC) Committee.
- Ensure quality and regulatory compliance for all accrediting and/or certifying bodies for the facility for any Infection Prevention (IP) program requirements.
- Collect, trend and measure pertinent data, concurrently and retrospectively, on hospital-acquired infections.
- Make rounds on hospital acute care units to interact with hospital staff caring for patients with infections as able. Helps to identify patients needing IC services and assists with assuring isolation technique is carried out correctly.
- Assist in the monitoring of nosocomial infections and participates in prevention and resolution of infections to reduce nosocomial risks including, but not limited to, asepsis, isolation, PPE, and sanitation techniques.
- Assist in the investigation of HAI's related to infections; including but not limited to, surveillance physical and electronic rounding.
- Report infections to outside agencies, meeting regulatory and quality improvement requirements.
- Assist other community agencies when asked. Represents the hospital in community awareness programs; assisting with Health Fairs, Hospital sponsored events, and other related IP and EH events.
- Handle epidemiology issues in all age specific categories. Services include newborn, pediatric, adult, geriatric and psychiatric patients (adolescents to adults)
- Assist with the risk assessment and annual gap analysis of the Infection Control program for the hospital.
- Assist with performing construction risk assessments.
- Acts as resource to professional staff personally providing education to physicians, nursing, allied health personal and EMS as needed.
- Implement of quality methodology to improve performance along with concurrent chart review.
- Analyze and/or input data into appropriate databases designated by the hospital, Division, and HCA, including but not limited to Meditech, TheraDoc, and NHSN.
- Adhere to the Hospital's policies and demonstrates compliance with the Code of Ethics.
- Perform other duties as assigned. -
