The Plant Manageris responsible for achieving the production plan within budgeted standards. The Manager is also responsible for achieving, product quality, food safety and regulatory compliance for goods manufactured in the facility. The position is responsible for managing and directing all personnel and resources in the production area to fulfill production schedules effectively and efficiently, and customer expectations at standard cost.Duties & Responsibilities:Major Duties & Responsibilities for this position include:Supervises Line Managers on all three shifts to ensure finished goods production is produced within Company standards for quality and efficiency and sent to warehouse within standard format.Achieves line standards through leadership of Operations staff, detailed analysis of root cause failures and implements corrective actions.Interfaces with maintenance staff to prevent downtime on the production floor.Ensures that production waste is at or better than standard/budget.Ensures Operations is adequately staffed, employees trained, coached and coordinates with Human Resources potential candidates to achieve overall operations excellency.Evaluates staff regarding production efficiency, quality, teamwork, communications and dependability.Determines outstanding needs for projects and makes decisions regarding the appropriate use of resources to accomplish production and budget goals.Works with Line managers and Production planning to establish staffing and overtime requirements each weekWorks with Line Managers and production planning to establish ongoing production issues, requirements, shortfalls, and create solutions to solve these issues.Coordinates with Human Resources to correctly administer the contract, resolve grievances and consistently administer disciplinary actions.Attends Production planning meeting. Communicates shortfall in efficiencies KPI s and corrective action plans.Actively plans and participates in negotiating process as part of the bargaining team.Motivates bargaining unit employees to meet and improve on efficiencies, reduce machine downtime and increase quality.Maintains a balanced and adequately trained workforce to meet the production schedule.Develops and maintains relationships with outside suppliers to be able to address operational needs or issues.Works closely with Engineering and Maintenance to achieve production line improvements, cost reductions and new product implementation.Participates in all Safety committee meetings, enacts safety policies and improvements as directed.Develops annual operational and capital budget along with Director of Operations and Engineering.Other duties as assigned.Skills & Qualifications:Must have 5+ years of Management Experience with a degree or 10-15 years of manager level experience in food or consumer goods without a degree.Efficiency, process mapping, budgeting and production standards experience required.Proficient in MS Office and ERP manufacturing systems.Must have outstanding verbal and written communications skills.Experience with food safety requirement such as GMP Standards, HACCP and BRCCertification preferred but not required.
