Description SAIC - is a premier Fortune 500 - technology integrator driving our nation's technology transformationOur robust portfolio of offerings across the defense, space, civilian, and intelligence markets includes secure high-end solutions in engineering, digital, artificial intelligence, and mission solutionsUsing our expertise and understanding of existing and emerging technologies, we integrate the best components from our own portfolio and our partner ecosystem to deliver innovative, effective, and efficient solutions that are critical to achieving our customers' missionsWe are more than 26,500 strong; driven by mission, united by purpose, and inspired by opportunitiesSAIC is an Equal Opportunity Employer, fostering a respectful work culture based on diversity, equity, and inclusion that values all contributorsSAIC has a career opportunity for an experienced scientists, engineers, and analystsWe are actively staffing a newly awarded, 5 year contract based in Fort Eisenhower, GAAs a Data Scientist, you will turn complex data sets into useful information to solve global challengesExperience must be in designing/implementing machine learning, data science, advanced analytical algorithms, programming (skill in at least one high-level language (e.gPython)), statistical analysis (e.gvariability, sampling error, inference, hypothesis testing, EDA, application of linear models), data management (e.gdata cleaning and transformation), data mining, data modeling and assessment, artificial intelligence, and/or software engineeringExperience in more than one area is strongly preferred Qualifications--- Active TS/SCI with polygraph--- Ability to use analytic modeling, statistical analysis, programming, and/or another appropriate scientific method, develop and implement qualitative and quantitative methods for characterizing, exploring, and assessing large datasets in various states of organization, cleanliness, and structure that account for the unique feature and limitations inherent in National Agency data holdings--- Ability to make and communicate principal conclusions from data using elements of mathematics, statistics, computer science, and applications-specific knowledge--- Translate practical mission needs and analytic questions related to large datasets into technical requirements and, conversely, assist others with drawing appropriate conclusions from the analysis of such data--- Make informed recommendations regarding competing technical solutions by maintaining awareness of the constantly shifting National Agency collection, processing, storage, and analytic capability and limitations--- Knowledge of agency specific tools and methodologies--- Strong critical thinking and collaboration skills--- Relevant experience must be in designing/implementing machine learning, data science, advanced analytical algorithms, programming (skill in at least on high level language ( e.gPython), statistical analysis ( e.gvariability, sampling error, inference, hypothesis testing, EDA, application of linear models), data management ( e.gdata cleaning and transformation), data mining, data modeling and assessment, artificial intelligence, and/or software engineering--- Bachelor's Degree must be in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics Statistics, Applied Statistics, Machine learning, Data Science, Operations Research, or Computer Science or a degree in a related field (Computer Information Systems, Engineering), a degree in the physical/hard sciences (e.gphysics, chemistry, biology, astronomy), or other science disciplines with a substantial computational component (i.ebehavioral, social, or life) may be considered if it included a concentration of coursework (5 or more courses) in advanced Mathematics (typically 300 level or higher, such as linear algebra, probability and statistics, machine learning) and/or computer science (e.galgorithms, programming, data structures, data mining, artificial intelligence)--- Degree and minimum years of relevant work experience as follows:--- AA and 12 years of experience or,--- BA/BS and 10 years of experience or,--- Military or applicable government work experience in lieu of technical degree SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadlineCovid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boostersCustomer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
