Skills Set Needed Extensive knowledge in automotive repair Knowledge of milling machines Precision measurement Great work ethic and dependable Attention to details Team player Project management Good communication skills Auto parts knowledge Machine/Valve Shop Technician Ability to run all equipment efficiently. (See equipment list) Log jobs in from customer. Write up work order. Discuss project goals with customer. Review initial pricing and deposit requirements. Customer timelines for project completion. Project management and work through completion. Inspect for visible issues, i.e. cracks in blocks or heads. Post job on project board and keep updated. List and source parts needed from approved vendors. Price out job and communicate with customer on updated quote and timeline. Complete all work insuring 100% quality. Exceed customer expectations. Additional shop duties Maintain shop equipment based on maintenance intervals. Keep the shop area clean and equipment clean at all times. Help on other projects where required. Must be a team player. Shop Manager Meet with team to review jobs and timelines. Insure all jobs / projects as on target for completion date and cost. Communicate with Management on project statuses. Participate in marketing events where needed. Participate in sales calls. Work with vendors to ensure quality parts and build solid partnerships.
