JOB SUMMARYThe duties of this position include, but are not limited to, providing diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education and follow-up care to patients ranging in age from infant through late adolescents, proper maintenance of records, acting as the Supervisory Physician of Mid-level Providers, train medical students and residents, and any other reasonable and proper duties assigned.PRIMARY FUNCTIONSPerform histories, physicals and prescribing a diagnostic, education, preventive and/or treatment plan within the standards of accepted medical practicePerform/interpret and/or order labs, diagnostic procedures, and making appropriate referrals as necessaryMaintain patient records and close within designated timeAdhere to proper charting protocolsCoordinate continuity of medical care for patientsPromote health by advising patients on diet, hygiene and prevention of diseaseInoculate and vaccinate as requiredPerform procedures and minor surgery as necessaryReport deaths and contagious diseases to governmental authoritiesSupervisory Physician of Mid-level providers as requiredEducate and teach medical students, residents, and clinical students as requiredOther duties as indicated.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEDoctoral degree, either M.D. or D.O., in medicineMinimum of 5 years experience, preferredMinimum of 2 years teaching experience in a clinical environment, preferredMust have and maintain current Florida License in good standingBoard Eligible or Board Certification, preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESEffective written, verbal and electronic communication skillsShow initiative, creativity and problem-solving abilityAbility to collaborate with colleagues to provide quality healthcareAbility to work under pressureComputer literacyADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONSPrior experience using an electronic medical records systemBilingual a plus, but not requiredRELATIONSHIP REPORTINGReports to the Chief Medical OfficerPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSCommunicate effectively with patients and staffBe able to sit, stand or view a computer screen for extended periods of timePerform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of timeBe able to use hand and fingers to handle or feelBe able to reach with hands and armsby Jobble More...
