Job Description GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER Mission Department Port StJoe, FL Open Position Request Number R-30-24 CLASSIFICATION: General Maintenance Worker; CBA Rate $22.50 Hourly GRADE: Non-Exempt; Regular Full-time LOCATION: Test Site D-3, Port StJoe, FL - On Site POSTING DATE: Internal Applicants (3/28/2024) / External Applicants (4/4/2024) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical workWork involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machineryEssential job functions may also include controlling range test areas and/or repairs to towers, involving replacement of cross-members, bolts, and other tower hardwareThe position may require the ability to climb towers up to 300 feet in heightTower climbing experience may be required and if so, incumbents will be required to attend climbing school for certification and attend periodic training courses to remain certifiedGeneral Maintenance Workers may be required to be familiar with the use and maintenance of personal safety climbing accessoriesStructures may not be equipped with climbing cages, but all will be equipped with safety devices for ascending and descending towersGENERAL DUTIES: Responsibilities are mission support, and general facility maintenance at Test Site D-3Additional responsibilities include administrative, logistic, and quality control dutiesSome early morning and late evening work may be required as well as occasional work on weekendsOperate/repair ground maintenance equipment: farm tractor, commercial mowers, chainsaws, string trimmers, portable generatorsOperate a forklift and aerial lift, work from a ladder while wearing a respiratorOTHER DUTIES: Other functions include planning, estimates and providing guidance or instructions to lesser skilled personnelMay be required to handle hazardous materials and/or collect hazardous wasteMay require housekeeping duties in assigned work areasJob Requirements EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Incumbents must have either: Formal training, acquired through vocational certification or military service school training or a certified apprenticeship program, in at least one of the following disciplines: carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, cement work, concrete strength testing, range controlling, surveying, hydraulics, tower maintenance, small engine repair or painting, and 3 years of combined experience in at least two of the trades mentioned above., or 5 years verifiable experience in at least two of the following disciplines: carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, cement work, range controlling, surveying, hydraulics, tower maintenance, or paintingMay be required to have a CDLOTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Secret security clearanceCandidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearanceSupports E-OMS operational objectivesObserves company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies;
