Chimpoulis & Hunter is an insurance defense law firm located in Plantation, Broward County, Florida, providing representation in Medical Malpractice cases. We represent physicians and medical groups throughout the southern and middle region of the State of Florida. At Chimpoulis & Hunter we work under a team approach inclusive of Attorneys, Registered Nurses, Paralegals, Legal Assistants and Litigation Support Specialists, to bring over three decades of experience servicing medical malpractice insurance carriers and their insureds. Requirements: The ideal candidate will have experience in handling all aspects of the defense in a medical malpractice case beginning with the 90-day presuit process under 766, Florida Statutes (taking unsworn statements, strategizing defenses, attending initial client meetings, answering and propounding discovery, handling presuit mediations, preparing status reports to carriers) through the litigation phase of taking depositions, preparing motions, propounding and answering all types of discovery (interrogatories, production requests, admissions), attending hearings, reporting case status to carriers, presenting at mediation and, participating in trial. Qualifications: Experienced in the defense of medical malpractice cases Licensed member of the Florida Bar and in good standing Strong legal research and excellent writing skills Persuasive oral advocacy Ability to provide excellent customer service to our clients inclusive of conferences and reports Highly organized, with a clear and concise communication style Ability to respond timely to case and reporting deadlines as well as discovery deadlines Ability to work in-person at the Plantation, Florida office Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Computer competent & proficient Prepare outgoing substantive pleadings, motions and discovery Prepare responses to pleadings, motions and discovery Communicate in a highly effective manner with team members, clients & experts Prepare reports and letters to clients relative to the on-going status of a case Be able to analyze and effectively strategize defenses Attend/Take depositions of Plaintiffs, Co-Defendants, medical treaters, Experts, Economists, et al Attend Trials PTO Benefits: Three Weeks Paid Vacation 10 paid Holidays days per year: New Year's Day; President's Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving; Christmas Eve and Christmas Day; New Year's Eve Insurance Benefits:
