Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Project Manager to support the Digital Transformation Center (DTC) IT program within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This position will be fully remote.

Responsibilities

You will work directly with subject matter experts in cyber security and software as a service (SaaS) workstreams to plan and track progress and achieve the organization's delivery objectives.

Experience working with a civil agency is preferred; experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs is greatly desired. The environment is dynamic and client needs are often evolving. As such, your thought leadership, problem solving, and rapid learning skills are needed to lead our clients through conceptualization, strategic planning, and execution. Your flexibility, innovative mindset and forward-thinking views are critical for this role. Finally, your communication and leadership skills will be the linchpin for your success.

To excel in this role, you will:

Directly support the VA IT Director to oversee and manage a large portfolio of SaaS projects.

Build/prepare executive level briefings and progress reports with minimal assistance.

Establish program level strategies and develop/implement program governance standards.

Support the VA SaaS Director in proactively removing blockers and determining risk mitigation strategies.

Have a strong ability to organize lots of information you will need to draw on for projects.

Be able to intake lots of information and directions and leverage it to work independently.

Manage quick turn around requests and complex projects every week.

Develop SOPs, emails, and workflows in response to current challenges being faced.

Work with cross-functional teams to support day-to-day operations and achieve program objectives.

Plan, schedule and facilitate discussions to ensure priority task items are satisfied across product lines.

Be assigned specific artifacts to review with stakeholders and be responsible to collect input providing comments and notes back to senior leadership.

Leverage customer insights to establish and prioritize business goals and objectives across the SaaS portfolio.

Develop customer-facing roadmaps and Standard Operating Procedures to illustrate key strategic decisions as they relate to product delivery.

Develop training content for workflows, process steps, and deliverables to ensure consistent results for Federal clients.

Act as a trusted advisor in an objective third-party capacity to federal clients, providing consultative services and thought leadership.

Develop and nurture excellent client relationships and act as communication conduit to executive sponsors & stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's with 5 - 8 years (or commensurate experience). 5 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.

Experience managing large IT projects, establishing program level strategies and developing/implementing governance standards.

Experience providing program, product, and project management support to a government client.

Experience working with customers and project leads in analyzing, designing, implementing, and supporting IT projects.

Experience with managing diverse IT projects both large and small and be well-versed in full systems development life cycle and strategic information planning, including agile development and DevOps environments.

Experience developing SOPs, training, and templates for distribution.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools and Microsoft SharePoint.

Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, presentation and analytical skills.

Highly motivated & ability to take initiative.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Works independently with significant latitude for decision making, and with minimal guidance and supervision.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Dept. of Veteran Affairs or other federal agency consulting experience.

Experience with Product/Program/Project Management.

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $123,572.06 - USD $144,167.41 /Yr.
