Chemours is seeking a Technical Program Leader to join our technical team at our state-of-the-art research facility, the Chemours Discovery Hub, in Newark, Delaware. The position will report to the Product Growth Manager. This position will support the Thermal & Specialized Solutions business. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: - Lead projects related to the development process of the new refrigerants dedicated for several applications including automotive air-conditioning & heat-pump, refrigeration and specialty fluids.
- Ability to manage time and resources to get results in the quickest and least costly fashion within limits dictated by maintaining safe operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organization, customers and partners.
- Lead open innovation activities, including identification and evaluation of funding opportunities as well as leading the application processes, by actively seeking best partners (governmental bodies, start-ups, foundations, academics, industrial) to accelerate product development process.
- Participate in technical conferences, seminars and tradeshows by presenting papers or participating in panels etc. and gather application trends and inputs.
- Become a key contact person with the industry and participate in the conversations on system design and optimization to meet evolving market and regulatory needs.
- Knowledge or the desire to learn fluorochemical science and related application technologies.
- Travel 15-30% of time to customers and partners.
The following is required for this role: - Bachelor's or master's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry or relatable fields
- Good interpersonal and written/oral communication skills, and the ability to work well with all levels in the organization
- Self-motivated, customer focused, and ability to independently achieve results
- Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects
- Ability to work in a team environment with high degree of initiative and self-motivation and flexibility to monitor and move projects forward quickly and safely
