Description:Join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals as a Respiratory Therapist in Smyrna, DE where you will play a vital role in providing exceptional respiratory care to our diverse patient population. In this dynamic position, you will leverage your specialized knowledge and skills to assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders. We are looking for a compassionate and technically skilled individual to enhance our patient's well-being and support our mission of delivering outstanding healthcare services. The RT will cover all of Delaware and some parts of Maryland.Job SummaryThe Respiratory Therapist provides effective Respiratory Therapist services and set-up of related products for patients in the home setting, including therapeutics, diagnostics, high tech ventilation, oxygen, and other miscellaneous respiratory equipment.Requirements:Must be a graduate of an accredited Respiratory School and must have current RCP state licensure in the state inquiring employment and in good standingMust be willing to get cross-licensed in other states at the company's expenseMust have a valid driver's license and automobile insurance in good standingAt least 1 year experience as a working Respiratory Therapist is required. Experience in the home care setting is highly desirableRRT certificationCurrent CPR- BLS certificationMust have adequate PC skills to use e-mail and update notes and other documentation electronically in a timely mannerJob Responsibilities, included but not limited to:Provides patients and family members with timely and accurate information and takes appropriate corrective actions regarding our services to ensure complete satisfactionAbility to initiate and develop good working relationships with patients, family members and referral sources is essentialEnsures that the team plans daily events so as to be as efficient as possible with time management (e.g., minimizes travel time by planning routes ahead of time)Assists with the proper scheduling of set ups and follow up visits according to company policies and standards.Works closely with the RT Clinical Liaisons in coordinating patient dischargesAbility to properly triage problems in the field in accordance with company standards and other verbal and written training policiesEnsures that the team follows proper procedures for accurate and timely documentation of patient concerns, and most importantly, takes appropriate corrective actionsMaintains strong knowledge of PromptCare's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures that they are applied consistentlyEnsures that the team maintains compliance to all applicable laws, regulations and SOPs at all times Fosters a culture wherein the team conducts activities with a mindset of delivering "white glove" service to the patients and family membersSubmits expense reports for travel at least once monthly and in a timely mannerOn-call responsibilities as neededPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is highly active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, and climbing all day. The ability to see distinctions in colors and shapes is also required. Coordinate fine and gross motor movements and hand/eye movement.
