Description Mechanical Engineer Washington, DC Responsibilities: The Candidate shall provide engineering/technical support for concept studies; feasibility studies; preliminary design activities; contract design activities; detail design and construction activities; independent design reviews; In-service ship design and engineering activities; shipboard installation support; and special studies related to ships/boats/craft, ship systems and/or shipboard equipmentThe Candidate shall provide naval architecture, marine engineering, electrical engineering and in-depth engineering support for the Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E); Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I); and mission equipment and systems installed aboard ships, boats, craft and targets, including Combat Logistics Force (CLF), Special Mission Ships, and FMS assetsRequirements:--- 15+ years DoD/DoN program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management--- Understanding of: DoD/DoN procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process); Foreign Military Sales; Military Sealift Command procedures and processes; Supervisory experience; experience communicating with SES/Flag level personnel; ship building experience--- Mechanical Engineering Degree--- Preferred: Professional Engineer License--- Bachelor's of Science in Engineering; Preferred: Master's degree in Engineering discipline--- US Citizen with Secret Security Clearance All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteranORBIS offers an excellent benefits package and competitive salary in a professional atmosphere.
