Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Software Quality Assurance, the IT Business Analyst is a member of the Information Technology team for RB Media. RB Media is the leading Audiobook publisher globally. The Business Analyst is responsible for documenting business requirements and testing IT solutions in support of our customer facing platforms. In this capacity, the IT Business Analyst is responsible for facilitating requirements gathering, documenting requirements, providing analysis support and facilitating Agile meetings with the Development team, and validating that solutions deliver the expected outcomes.

This position focuses on key business applications, both custom developed and off-shelf technologies. Primarily this position will collaborate with business users in the Content Acquisitions functions of RB Media. The position is located in Old Saybrook CT, but may require occasional travel.

Key Relationships

Reports to: Director of Software Quality Assurance, RB Media.

Direct Reports: N/A

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Organize detailed solution delivery priorities (tickets) via Agile Jira Sprints
• Facilitate Agile meetings with Development team to ensure understanding, scope, timelines, etc
• Document project requirements by creating User Stories and Use Case scenarios
• Facilitate requirement gathering sessions with business stakeholders
• Define detailed configuration specifications
• Validate developed solutions satisfy requirements as expected
• Build rapport and trust with business users. CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION: KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
  
  Ideal Experience
  • 5+ years working as an IT Business Analyst in an Agile delivery environment.
  • Extensive experience creating user stories.
  • Knowledge of SDLC Working understanding of SQL to support analysis and testing.
  • Basic API knowledge to support design and testing.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • process and project management required.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business needs and work with technical staff to formulate technical solutions consistent with organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrated full lifecycle software deliver skills including developing user stories and use cases, system and user acceptance testing.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with anybody in the organization.
  • General knowledge of technical concepts (database, development techniques, etc.) Preferred Skills
